A puzzle

If you're here then you must know at least something about computers. And if you are a hardcore puzzler, welcome to heaven. Or hell, however you want to look at it. Regardless of how knowledgable you are, this can prove to be a fun exercise as well as a huge waste of time. Windows XP is highly recommended, since this was made with XP. If you need something that your version or OS doesn't have (like Winzip), Google can help.

-Setup-
This should all be in a .zip folder. After you extract it to anywhere, it would be advisable to hang on to the zip folder. Note that the link at the bottom only works in the extracted folder.

-How to play NewFolder-
You start at level 1 (link at the bottom). You need to find out how to get to level 2, and so on. The first few are simple in this way, but then you will have to find passwords. Also, don't modify or delete anything. You never know what information you might need.

There are 2 kinds of helpers: hints and fyi's. Hints are there to help you only if you are sincerely stuck. Usually. ;) But fyi's are ones you SHOULD read; they clarify some things and avoid confusion.

There is a logical system and solution to all levels. You just need to employ different methods of thought.

So how do you win? When you have solved this riddle you will have a final answer(s), along with some instructions. If you are correct you will earn a place in the ranking at hexaditidom.tripod.com. That's really the only big 'prize' at the end, but there's also the fun little things you'll find on your way.

I would also greatly appreciate feedback on what was too hard/too easy, so I can improve this game for future versions.
